The serenity was everywhere in that high altitudes. Eagles after there day's fly, returned to their nests. The chillness in breeze made even trees to shiver a little. But that ancient monastery stood erect without losing its ethnic quality for more than a millennium. Breaking the silence existed there, three monks raised a question to their master in chorus.
“What is the meaning of life?”
Next day, three monks were sent in different directions for six days in search of answer for their question. Master asked to take with them three days food with separate conditions to each. First monk was asked to take food for first three days. Second monk was asked to take food in alternate days. Third monk was asked to take food for last three days.
In the seventh day morning, master asked those three monks the same question. First monk stood and said, “Life is a celebration and enjoyment till young age and afterwards it’s a suffering till death.” Second monk said, “Life consists of both ups and downs. There is neither constant enjoyment nor constant suffering.” Third monk said, “Life is a challenge in younger days and if we overcome it, we can harvest good result for remaining days”.
Master opened his mouth adjusting his voice, “Three different answers for same question. Really life is nothing. If someone is defining life means they are describing what they experienced so far and they conclude that as life. Try to live in this second. Now breakfast is waiting for us.”
